Nick Johnson & Lord Lyall Toy Drive
It's hard to believe but it's that time of year again. During the Fall season, we collect toys and monetary donations for the Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando. This toy drive was created by Nick and Lordi in memory of Nick's mother, who died of cancer. Please bring your toys to the Polo Grandstand during matches and place in the box by the Pony Up Polo Boosters information desk. You can also donate funds on our website or at the information desk. (Donations are tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3) The profits from the sales of the t-shirts with Nick's design go directly to this effort. This is a meaningful cause and has resulted in thousands of dollars' worth of toys being donated and helping the children in the hospital.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Elf Party on Tues, Nov 18, 11am, at the Oxford Polo Club barns. This event is so much fun as we sort and box up all of the toys in preparation for transport to the hospital. bring some snacks to share and wear your Elf apparel!
Three Upcoming Booster Events!
Joe Hand is returning to The Villages and will play for us!
Joe is making the trip down from Nashville. He will entertain us after the match on the opening day of the Pony Up Polo Boosters Tournament on Friday, Oct 24. Tierra Del Sol will keep the bar going and the Boosters will provide some snacks. Come and enjoy Joe's music, a real treat.
An Evening with Author and Polo Player Sukey Forbes, Nov 5
Sukey has played polo in The Villages and is the owner of the Mother Chukker Polo Team. She wrote "An Angel in my Pocket" about the loss of their daughter. It is a beautifully written book about loss and grief. Sukey also edited and republished the 1911 book, "As To Polo", written by her great uncle.
