Pony Up Polo Boosters Donate New Horse to The Villages Polo School

polo_26oct_newpony.jpg

Every year, Pony Up Polo Boosters raises money for donation to several causes.  With your generous donations through t-shirts purchases and the Derby Party Auction, we've donated to the Injured Players Fund for many years. This year, we were given the opportunity to purchase a horse, with Lordi's help, and donate her to the Polo School. (The School could use a few more horses.) She is a lovely horse with the perfect temperament.

We now call on all of you to think of a new name for her and submit, via email, to ponyuppoloboosters@gmail.com.

Please check your email for the 10/28 message. (Pasted, text only, below for convenience) (Please let us know if you are not receiving)

State Farm Win the Pony Up Polo Boosters Tournament

It was well fought match but State Farm was victorious. The Boosters provided a small gift to all of the players. The winners received new pairs of riding gloves. The MVP, Harrison Wise of State Farm, received a new bridle and the best playing Ponies, (we selected one from each team), received bales of alfalfa. Tomi MacDougal of Fross & Fross, received MVP honors for his play. All players received awards from the Villages Polo Club as well.  For more photos go to our website.

Here She Is! Now You Need to Name Her

Through our fundraising efforts, Pony Up Polo Boosters, with Lord Lyall, were able to purchase a new horse for The Villages Polo School.  This beautiful mare has just the right temperament for the students who are learning the sport. While in the past we usually have donated to the Injured Players Fund, this year the Polo Club determined the school was in greater need for a new horse.

Part of this occasion calls for some fun, so we're having a contest to rename this new addition. Please submit your ideas using our email address, ponyuppoloboosters@gmail.com.

We appreciate all of our Booster family for their support in making this happen!

Author Sukey Forbes Event is Soon

While we miss watching Sukey (and Iggy) play polo here in The Villages, Sukey has graciously agreed to fly down and spend an evening with us. She will discuss both of her books and then will open it up to everyone to ask questions and talk about them. Please RSVP for this unique experience. It will be held Wednesday, Nov 5, 7PM, at American Legion Post 18 on Rte 44 (just west of Brownwood Hotel). More details are on the website.

We're All Invited! Support the Students

The Villages Polo School has invited us to watch the final match of their season on Wed, Nov 12, 3PM, on Field 3. This match will be announced and will include a formal awards ceremony. All Boosters are encouraged to attend to have as big a crowd there as possible. Polo Student Jorge Romero of Ruggie Wealth is hosting this event and has invited the Pony Up Polo Boosters.  One team will be wearing our Pony Up team shirts. Don't forget to bring your chairs as there is no seating on Field 3. It is golf cart accessible. For more details, go to the website.

Our Booster Polo Shirts now Available to Order

We've been asked to offer the blue Pony Up Polo Boosters polo shirt for sale. The shirts include the Pony Up logo embroidered on the front. These are great shirts for our Florida weather and are comfortable to wear.  If you want to see one before you order, find Beth at the Information Desk before matches. Click on "Polo Shop" on the bar above to place your order.
